I am thinking of buying a laptop for the sole purpous of storing my photos and videos on.
Does anybody have any advise or experiances of which laptop I should look at, obviouly picture quality will be paramount. Will I get a good one for £400ish.
Thanks for any help.

You do know how digital technology work, right? And you know that your pictures will be the same quality on £100 netbook and on £3000 Macbookairprothinlight thing?
You're sure you don't just need a USB Hard Drive?
Best screen is without doubt the apple ones. However, I am more than happy with an Advent from PC world. Largely buy on price / spend the most you can afford. You do need at least dual processors, fastest clock speed, 2GB RAM and the largest hard drive possible (min 320GB). Also budget for a separate USB connected backup drive of say 500GB.
Also budget for software; Lightroom is fantastic at file management and basic editing. Use with Photoshop Elements; legit purchase for both about £250 all in.
I doubt you'll see much change from £750...
