I have the pleasure of setting this month's theme. So, last week my wife gave birth to our second child, a baby boy called Jack. So this month's theme is 'jack'.

If you're troubled by this then type "jack" into Google and see what you get - black-, steeple-, hydraulic-, audio-, union-, -daniels, -russell and so on. Good luck with this one!

I think that's quite a hard one to use as a theme 'Jack' so thought I'd put up the dictionary definitions to give people a few more ideas. Hope you don't mind.

Jack – noun

1. any of various portable devices for raising or lifting heavy objects short heights, using various mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic methods.

2. Also called knave. Cards . a playing card bearing the picture of a soldier or servant.

18. Lawn Bowling . a small, usually white bowl or ball used as a mark for the bowlers to aim at.

19. Also called clock jack. Horology . a mechanical figure that strikes a clock bell.

22. Falconry . the male of a kestrel, hobby, or esp. of a merlin.

Nice idea 14-7. Sorry for picking this theme...I thought a difficult one might stimulate creativity. Hopefully your words will help.

This was actually from my very first ever attempts at "arty" photography several years ago. Taken with a compact camera and linked from facebook as I have no idea where the original is now so not sure if the quality will be any good...

Just back from Classic Le Mans... Plenty of jacks in action!







I think No.3, which is one of the Ferrari's (I need to check which one!), will be my entry.
