Tamron 70-300mm shots from Bentwaters
Discussion
So after buying my bargain lens for £55 from Currys, I went to Bentwaters Airshow today where I attached to my 450d and took some shots.
No post processing, straight from the camera. I can see some softness, but with an overcast day and hand held with single point focussing I thought it handled it reasonably well: C&C welcomed.

Thanks for the comments. I'm very much a beginner as I've never owned an SLR before and only had this for 6 months.
As such, my comments below should be treated as just the wittering of a newbie
With regard to getting a sense of movement; with a dull sky and no scenery it's always going to be difficult. I was lucky that some of the planes had smoke trails, which helps, but you've used a slower shutter speed than me, so you've got a nice blurred rotation on the prop, whereas mine are more static. A plane, mid air, with a stationary prop is guaranteed to look odd.
