I'm trying to find some pictures that were linked to from PH for my daughter. She's doing WWII at school and these pics summed up the Third Reich perfectly. The pictures were very well taken, possibly from PR type material and summed up the 'power' of the Third Reich perfectly. I'm trying to visually show her how someone like Hitler could draw in the masses.

The buildings are very Deco with Nazi symbolism and large crowds. Can anyone remember the pics I'm on about?

That'll be the work of Leni Riefenstahl, very powerful and dramatic imagery.

Blimey, that was quick! Thanks folks, they certainly convey how a nation can be whipped up into a frenzy and follow someone far better than written words can. Stunning images yes

I'm Googling, but does anyone have a link to a site where they're all displayed in high res, I know it was linked to from PH but I can't find it.

You could try searching Google's archive of LIFE photos. Just add 'source:life' in image searches. A lot of historic pictures on there.

That was the effect they had on me too, somehow they make you feel as though you're there.

Because they're in colour, suddenly it doesn't look old.

It also seems funny having national pride, as ours has all been stamped out.

That can't be true, I saw a bloke with 6 St. George's cross flags on his car this morning.
