Evening all, through further procrastination a plan has been hatched for a small shoot with some friends with m new camera, basically, we'll be in the London area and I'd quite like to do a shoot with our cars, two have just changed cars. I don't really know London all to well but would like to go somewhere near the river or somewhere with some industrial buildings or derelict/abandoned places. Somewhere fairly moody and would suite the early evening light. Possibly the Isle of Dogs/Docklands areas etc. We're coming from the M25/A4/M4 direction, anybody with any local knowledge?

Thanks in advance!

Now, back to not writing this essay...

There's a small carpark and some waste ground at the end of the runway at London City Airport which gives you a view straight down the runway, or across the dock with some warehouses and cranes in the background.

I haven't tried this yet, but one plan I have it to take my car to the Ikea car park in Croydon. There's a small underground parking area and a section of the roof is open, so on a sunny day there's a shaft of light illuminating that part of the lower level.

Google Maps

It might be no good but I want to find out. Only when Ikea isn't busy though.

Depending on which way you come along Woolwich Manor Way, turn in to the road that takes you down a hill (looks like you going in to some breakers yard / industrial units type area) then take the first left. The road goes back under the main road and leads into a car park area with some waste ground and gantries of runway lights stretching back behind you.
