Evening,

I'm looking to buy an extra battery for my D3000, does anyone know of a decent online shop?

Cheers

I've got a couple of these and they last as long as the original Nikon battery in my D40.

What may be a stupid question:

The battery in my camera (D3000) is a 7.2V 1080mAh battery (EN-EL9a type)

The batter on the link above for 7dayshop is a 7.4V 1000mAh battery, however the website says it should work in a D3000.

Are any of you using the 7.4V type ok?

Cheers

I can't help you too much, but I would highly recommend that you use an official battery. It'll last a lot longer in terms of holding its charge and its lifetime.

Nonsense. Get over to 7dayshop.co.uk and buy a generic battery for a tenner or so. I have several for my 40D and if anything they are better than the genuine Canon one.

I can't fault the various 7dayshop batteries I have bought over the years. The only disappointnment has been the life per charge in my Ixus Wireless P&S - but then they still last longer than the original Canon batteries in that camera. For all other cameras the cheap ones are at least as good as the original batteries and, at the price, you really can't go wrong. The twin packs are especially good deals. (I assume they still do them - haven't needed to look for a while.)
