I have tried all the usual reviews - google, which etc but I find it always helps to get an idea from some "real" people before rushing into buying.

I am looking for an HD camcorder, we do a lot of MX/mountain biking and my leg is in plaster for a few months so figured I would do some filming instead of riding.

We already have a gopro camera for helmetcam/onboard footage but would like something really high quality for trackside filming.

So really looking for a camcorder which can film a couple of hours of footage in the highest quality setting (I realise this is largely memory card subjective), and is suited to fast moving video, bikes, cars etc

Budget I guess would be up to 1000 pounds including the camera, memory card (s) and some software. But Id probably look at buying a used one for a little less money. So maybe something that retails at around 1k that I could pick up for 600-700 ish.

Similarly if anyone could suggest the best software for "top gear-esque" slow motions, dark skies etc that would be much appreciated.

Please bear with me, pretty new to this, although I have used still-cameras, slrs for work/play previously.

Thanks
Jim

Been doing some more reading up on this and it appears I may have rushed into the HD aspect of it?

I have a feeling my computer may not be up to scratch, its a pretty basic 4 year old dell.

I'm just after a camcorder which I can do some 10min/15min mx/karting etc videos on which can either be uploaded to youtube or kept on my hard-drive. (Not looking to watch them via a tv).

Would also like to be able to edit them on the comp.

Is HD a good bet, or too much hassle? - I already have a basic cheapy video camera, but it goes "grainy" when filming fast moving vehicles etc - just very basic quality, Whats the best bet for the highest quality video withing my restrictions?

Thanks again
Jim
