I've just been trying to profile a monitor on my Vista machine with my Spyder2 Pro. Everthing is printing out overly red, much redder than it was without the profiling (Canon 9950 and new driver just incase etc). All works spiffingly with my XP machines and I can't find any mention of issues like this with the spyder 2 and vista. In fact both my Vista machines exhibit the same symtoms, both Toshiba but different models, different video card etc.

Properties for my video card hint at it trying to colour manage (nothing expicitly stated though) but there isnt an option to turn it off. The screen looks a bit warm to me too. Like I said, I can't see mention anywhere of an issue and due to both machines behaving the same I'm guessing vista is doing something rubbish.

Is the Spyder Pro2 just crap with Vista and I need to get a later version or something else?

Wouldn't technology be great if it just worked...

TIA!

The Spider will show give you a monitor that looks right. This has no effect at all on your printer. If you want to have you prints match your monitor then you will need to profile both, starting with the monitor.

It is probably worth downloading a printer profiling sheet and using that (Photobox do a free version). Start by switching you imaging software to have the printer do the colour profiling and then set it to manual colour correction. You will then have control over what the printer does and allows adjustment of each colour and contract / brightness.
