Ok guys, this is a pretty new word to me. A friend of mine has called up asking if the logo of his company can be turned into a vector image, so that it can be blown up alot larger with minimal distortion so it can be printed onto a sign. The company he is using has given him a pretty large quote (he didnt say how much) to do this work prior to printing.

Im at work at the moment so haven't found time to actually find out what vector is and how to create one.

I have Adobe Photoshop Cs2, is it 'doable' on this software? I haven't yet recieved his email with the logo attatched so I can show you, but will post it when I recieve it.

James.

From my limited knowledge of such stuff I think Adobe Ilustrator is the one you need.

You are going to have to get Adobe Illustrator or a similar vector program (Corel Draw, Inkscape) and redraw the logo in that program. You can try the "trace" function in one of these programs and it will attempt to create a Vector image from a Jpeg(or similar), the results are never usually that great though.

Depending on the logo, it is possible in photoshop.

As long as it is not too complicated, people have done that kind of stuff for free on here.
VectorMagic works quite well converting logos to vectors.
Is the logo on Google? What company is it?

Its for a car detailing company "ultimate car care". He hasn't got a website at the moment (under construction) and the logo is a simple image of a car with its wheel turned and the name of the company in fancy italic. Still hasn't sent me yet, annoyingly.
