..Brand new!

There was an offer where the card was only £14, it's a 4GB SDHC Sandisk Extreme III (30mb/s).. I added it to the order anyways, does anyone have any experience with them? Are they a good card?

It's looking at the minute that it could be early next week before my camera gets here.. I'm really gutted, I can't wait to get it. Hopefully the good weather stays so I can get out and take some nice pics..

This is my first DSLR, i've had a look at a few and the D5000 felt the best in my hands.. and was very easy to get some nice snaps!

Sandisk are about the best. The '3' is very fast (though not the fastest). Very good card though (I have about half a dozen of them).

The camera was actually £520, but I got £180 of Amazon vouchers free through work.. and then I get £50 cashback from Nikon.. So it's costing me £310.. biggrin

I bought it from Amazon through Calumet, and the memory card was ordered through another Amazon company.. I had paid for 3-4 day delivery on the Camera, so didn't bother paying for first class delivery for the memory card (Thinking that they'd both get here next week around the same time..)

I get home today, and there's a box waiting for me.. Calumet only posted it yesterday, so there's no way this is my camera.. It turns out it is, and on the invoice it says that it was shipped next day delivery, to Northern Ireland.. I couldn't believe it! Really outstanding service from Calumet! I highly recommend them!

It meant that I had to go to Argos and buy a SD card.. mad

I went out for a bit armed with my new camera to see if I could take any decent pictures.. I just created a Flickr account too.. Here's a few:

This is my first time using a DSLR/Any real camera.. Am I on the right track? Are any of them good? I dont think I took it off Auto at all..

I've borrowed a tripod too, so I might head out later and see if I can do some lighttrails etc.

Any sort of tips/criticism/abuse etc is appreciated.. Thanks!

I look forward to learning more!

I don't know why, but I really like the shot of the cats eye.

Is that the West side of Coniston on the A5084?

Edit: Just checked where you live... it's unlikely to be where I said wink

Have to agree with the above, the last one is really good!
Hope it was a quiet road, imagine the damage to your brand new camera if a car had hit you! wink
