Lasar pointer

I want to try some shots with a laser pointer. Obviously with the laser pointing away from the camera will be fine, but what about if the laser was pointing towards the camera? Like accidentally pointed directly into the camera?

Could a small hand held laser do any damage to a dslr's sensor?

The short answer is yes, it could do damage, but it very much depends on the power of the laser and how long it's pointing directly at the lens.
