Anyone got any experience of these? I'm looking for one with a range of about 50metres - can anyone recommend a good one at all? Any tips on them?

What sort of connection has the 450D got for the remote release?

I don't think canon do anything that is suitable but have a look at Hama ones.

Hi Mike, I've got a Hama wireless remote for my cameras. Seems to work reliably and the range is pretty impressive, I'm sure I've triggered mine from 50 metres before. IIRC it was about £60.

Got the first one myself, just beware the aerial breaking as it's only held on with a tiny piece of wire about this wide (|). I ended up soldering mine back on (and sticking the aerial onto the circuit board with superglue).

Apart from that, nice bit of kit!

I use the Canon RC1, which can be picked up for not much money on eBay. Works on infrared and is fairly effective, small and comes with a holster to put on the strap and can take the photo instantly or after 2 seconds or something.

Cheers Dave - I take it you have to have line of sight for the infra-red ones?

Anyone got any makes they WOULDN'T recommend?

Thanks for all the input everyone

My dad has just bought the 50D one off this guy.
Worked from about 30m away ( a fence stopped me going any further !)
