Once again I ask the Piston Massive's advice...

I think I am going to buy one of these Ixus things when I am in america because its cheaper there. Its £300 here and more like £200 there, anyway...

Anyone used one, know anything about them?

Or for a similar budget should i be buying something else?

Please can we not baffle me with science... I work in the Motor Trade, go easy on the big words and and stuff...

yours hopefully (and thick)

I have the Ixus 3 - blimmin' great camera.

It doesn't do anything fancy, but is small enough to keep in your pocket and get decent pics when you're out and about... i.e.

Ace!

The reason i wanted it is because its tiny... Like fag box tiny... It zooms, does video, has a flash... thats about all i need i reckon.

Sold then.

Great little camera, bought one for my last holiday along with the underwater case, it does exactly what it says on the tin...

Remember to buy a bigger CF card as being 4MP it eats up storage, and a 2nd battery wouldn't go a miss either.

IIRC Bacardi has one of these, and as his main (pro) camera cost about £4,000,000, the Ixus can't be at all bad!

Had an Ixus 330 for a while now - I love it to bits.

Robust, easy to use and looks good

Indeed he has and recommended it to me. Brilliant camera - replaced my Cannon Sureshot. Smaller than a packet of fags and goes everywhere with me. No complaints at all.

I have been more impressed with the Ixus 4 than the 1Ds....... 'nuff said.

Maybe I should qualify that a bit. Obviously it cant compete in picture quality but for easy to use, throw it it you pocket, go anywhere; it's a great fun, robust little camera and delivers pretty good results as well.

Ive got a Canon A70 for Quick pics not as small as the Ixus but couldnt afford the Ixus and a digi SLR

Solid built cam could go wrong buying one, but i will recomend a second battery.
