I've put some of these on the random thread... but just made this page for the local website.

PS... just heard that the Torridon Hotel has made it into the 'Best 10 British hotels of the decade' feature in the press. Get your bums up here - the roads are even better! (Between Easter and Whitsun is best).

Last time I was in that neck of the woods it was like being in Greece in Summer - blue sky, bluer waters, camping out, scorching hot, a Norton motorcycle shin-dig - magical place.

Makes me want to head there this weekend. Sadly, I'm struggling to get my car off the drive!

Have lunch in the Clachaig Inn - it's got a brilliant open fire, stone flags etc...it's the bigger bar to the right, behind reception, not the "visitors' bar" as you walk in the door.

Oh, the Inn itself is just off the road in the middle of the Glen, there's a sign, but it's easy to miss. Don't be put off by the single track road at the sign, it's only about 500 yards.

And if you're going up the main road, you'll have oodles of great highland photo ops across Rannoch Moor. Particularly halfway up the hill the otherside, looking back across the loch. smile

I'm full of envy - a lot of Sundays I drove up to Glencoe via Callander and Tyndrum, before heading over to Spean Bridge and Dalwhinnie before hitting the A9 back home - great way to spend a day.
