December 09 Photo comp - Results

[curtisl]

Well done everyone for their entries this month, it's good to see a few new names to the comp this month.

On to the results. I did find it very hard to judge, great images made it very close.

In third place, Therossatron. I loved this picture as soon as I saw it, to me it didn't fit the brief perfectly as there are strictly speaking no lights but flames but well done.

Second place is baz7175. This picture was so vibrant with the bold colours and I am a sucker for a rig shot and I love the angle. Great shot.

And the winner for me this month goes to John185k. I remember seeing this shot posted a little while ago and thought it was a spectacular scene captured perfectly.

A special mention goes to rasputin, Nick M and Dogsey for fantastic shots that just missed out on a podium finish and well done everyone else for all your entries.

Happy new year all.

Well done John, excellent image as was Baz's rig shot.

Congratulations to the others as well, there really were some cracking images this month.

Oh and thanks for the mention Lee!

Superb I presume it is the Falkirk Wheel?

[Dogsey]

PS. I've updated the competition wiki ... John, can fill in the relevant part when you've set your topic for January? Ta.

Thanks so much guys, a great start to 2010!!

Yep, the location is the Falkirk wheel on the central belt of Scotland.

Will have a good think tonight on a new subject heading and post it tomorrow...

(Big happy face)

Well done winners, must have been very hard to choose I looked a few days ago and the standard of entries was very high

[theRossatron]

thanks for the runner-upness! Great winning image - congrats to John. Great shot! Also love the clio rig shot it's the sort of picture I'd love on my wall.

Well done John, I never realised how cool the top end of the wheel is before seeing your pic - many a time I've visited the bottom end with family back home as part of a day out, next time I'll be venturing up top too

Cheers for the 2nd place too Curtis

Well done to the winner - saw that one and really liked it myself.

For what it's worth, no way would I have wanted to try and pick a winner this month - so many really good pictures to choose from !!
