Why no Canon or Nikon 50-150mm?
Discussion
Why don't Canon or Nikon make an f2.8 fast focusing 50-150mm lens? For a DX format camera it would be perfect for portraits. The Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 is perfect for FX (any takers for mine?!) but too short for DX. I know Sigma do one but it doesn't have a good reputation - bit hit & miss! I reckon Canon/Nikon could get c£1k for them.
Because at the price most people prefer to buy a 70-200?
The crop cost saving doesnt come into it at all, as your aperture limited for the diameter of glass.
Sigmas 50-150/2.8 is pretty tasty though has some focusing issues, about the size/weight of canons 70-200f4 I guess they dont feel like its worth tooling up for it when they can sell a 70-200.
