quick question - cars at night

Going to Ace meet 2night and hopeing to shoot some nice pictures, only got a Canon powershot G3 so not a big supercamera but would like to know what would be the best settings to use.

I usually have everything on "auto" and this is what i get without, and with flash :





I can use a night modus but there's quiet a few settings on the camera and no idea how to use them, just wondering if anyone here had a couple quick basic tips, ta.

Cars at night are nearly impossible without a) a camera with nightvision iso (d3s) or b) a tripod and the cars not moving very much.

Try night mode (=longer shutter speed) and rest the camera on a car roof or similar.
