After a bit of advice if anybody can help. I have a selection of canon lenses that were my late fathers which he used on his EOS (film) for sentimental reasons I would like to use them on a digital body. Which if any of the Canon digital range will they wok with. Thanks for your views. As a matter of interest I went to David Leungs in Goodmayes ( if anybody knows it) this week and it was all locked up. Does anybody know whether he is still trading, it was my first visit in 30 years and from what I could see through the door it hasn't changed a bit

If there genuine canon lenses they should be fine.

Some older sigma lenses wont work.

I thought that they should work i.e. fit but only manual rather than auto-focus depending on how old afaik. Sorry for your loss but hope you get some joy from the lenses.

If any of the lenses are FD fit (Breech Lock, Pre- EOS) you might expect to find an adapter in the set so that they can be used with any EOS body but only fully manual of course since they have no auto-focus or aperture setting facilities.

That said you can use a digital camera to do the metering, based on the manual settings, and let you know how well the exposure will work. And of course you can see the results for yourself!

Whilst adapters were rare (and offical Canon adapter very rare and expensive) in recent times there seems to have been a resurgence in availability in the last year or , though a good quality adapter may be worth more that then lenses it is used for.

You probably have all EOS lenses but I thought I would mention this just in case. There are some real jems on the FD range.
