Here's a link to the show (I think it's the one you mean) www.focus-on-imaging.co.uk

At the NEC 22 - 25 Feb.

Not sure about admission charges.

Also looks like they are running some seminars - one about wedding photography (wasn't someone asking about this the other day?)

Thats the one. Admission is £6 each. They have a catwalk there for you to practise your fashion photography.

I think i might have to make the effort and go up. Its a bit of a trek though, might require a bit of an early start!

I think maybe ill go on the Sunday - im tempted to go during the week in the hope that the roads will be quieter, but my girlfriend wouldnt be able to join me and id like her to come along.

Is it usual for shows to have 'special offers' on the first and/or last day? Just wondering when the best day to go is!

Two ways to do it. The boring way is to place an order at the show, and maybe get some kind of discount. The interesting way is to go on the last day - an enterprising exhibitor might sell you stuff from the stand rather than have to lug it all home. It all depends on the psyche of the exhibitor. I suspect few stands will be capable of taking money though... cetainly not the major ones.

I have been several times...yes there are offers around but it is worth taking a tour around the various retailers first...to get the best deal....usually best if you know what you want before you go as well.
I aim to get up there fairly early on a Sunday cos the last few years there are other exhibitions on the go as well....holiday shows etc etc so the road into the NEC does tend to get a bit busy.
I am going up (from London) on the sunday this year

PS...the manufacturers such as Nikon Cannon etc etc do not sell from their stands...however Jessops (urgh) Jacobs, Purdy's ie the retailers do have loads of kit

I'm going midweek but have been told by the regulars that the last day is not good as all the dealers want to pack up and go home rather than do any last minute bargain deals.
