Help Please with my Panasonic FZ38

I am just trying to load photos to my PC into Picasa for the first time and am getting the error that " Either the source is unavaliable or the destination is full or read only "

Is the read only part a setting that i need to change on the camera itself ? If so some direction please would be great.

Are they downloaded on to the PC already and in their own folder?

No they are not , im just connecting the camera to the PC, It comes up on the camera screen USB MODE and gives two options, 1) PTP Pictbridge and 2 ) PC, I am clicking on PC
