Hi Everyone,

Last September I got a Canon EOS 300D, and just last weekend I got my first real chance to try it out, at the 2009 Grizedale Stages rally.

Here's some examples of the sort of photos I got. All this is completely alien to me at the moment, so any constructive criticism is appreciated...

I'm sure I seen a post by oor Mr Carter on this thread last night when I had a brief look in, but either the server had a wee upset or he deleted it (or, more likely, I imagined it!)

Some of the later shots seem quite good to me (but then I am a COMPLETE amateur) but the first one or two - the evo in particular are slightly blurred (and quite far away) - perhaps need a lens with a longer zoom (or get closer) and a slightly quicker shutter speed.

At least your getting out there and taking photos though! I need to get off my erse and use my gear frown

Try changing your focus settings to dynamic focus area when cars are passing by. I use continuous focus on cars that move, results are far better. Don't know if you used any UV filter but by seeing those tiny bits of rock from the back of the car, I wouldn't one to hit my camera and lens.
