I'm looking to replace my Oregon Scientific ATK2000 helmet camera with a unit that records in HD. The following features are mandatory:

- All-in-one design (camera, battery and memory in one unit).
- Wide angle lens. The ATK2000 is quite narrow and thus you get a lot of perceived shake and decreased of speed.
- 60fps capable in HD mode (either 720p or 1080p).
- Standard camera 'screw' mount option (amongst others).

I have been looking at the various models available in the Contour HD range from here: http://www.vholdr.com/

Anyone got one of these...? Recommendations...? Other makes and models...?

TIA,

Roop

Dogcamsport have the ContourHD.

Why not call them and discuss your requirements? The chap who runs it, Mark, seems a friendly chap and owns an Esprit I believe. He even gave us a bullet cam media recorder for our PH charity raffle in the summer.

s like the Contour HD is the one to go for. Been checking out some clips and it looks quite good although some sharpness is lost at the enge of the picture. Presumably this is because it's a fairly cheap lens. Tim to find a store near me that stock the Contour HD and have a play with one.

Hi All,

I've had quite a bit of experience with both the ContourHD and the GoPro HD cameras. Both units give outstanding image quality and there are definite pluses and minuses for each one. The GoPro has some really interesting accessories coming out next year.

The ContourHD 1080p is far better than the 720p version but only worth the extra investment if your computer can keep up with the playback/editing. I'm using one of these in my car at the moment.

More than happy to answer any questions you might have on either of them.
Give us a call or send me an email.

Cheers.
Mark
