Number 2's good, but it looks like there's some nasty chromatic aberration over on the right, there.

I'll go against the grain and say that I prefer 3 BUT 2 would be great IMHO if there was a bit more of the structure included (like in 3) and it didn't look like the pillars were tilting/tipping backwards at the middle right (wide angle and photo angle issue I think). Great for first day though.

Very nice. No.2 for me, but all well executed. Obviously HDR, but well balanced.

Did you bracket the shots or HDR off a single shot? topical!hehe

YB

PS nice set, with relatively subtle HDR, unlike some Germany based specialists! wink

Bracketed manually in 'M' mode. The A300 only has an auto bracketing range of +/- 0.7EV so is not much use.

Nice first shots.

2 is my choice aswell, but think it'd be even better with a panoramic crop removing the muddy bank in the lower right hand corner. (I scrolled up to remove that section of the picture from the screen and preferred it)

Also I can't help noticing that some of the rigging runs of the rhd side of pic 1 whilst there is loads of space on the left.

Hi rasputin

Thanks for the pointer to PhotoMatix. It has made you picture look really nice, not that I saw the originals.

I have downloaded the demo copy and was surprised when I took a perfectly nice picture and created 3x exposure versions of it. HDR Imported them and messed around a number of times in the PhotoMatix control Panel.

Strangely I only managed to turn nice pictures in to bad pictures. No matter what I did, my original pictures looked much better. I watched the video a number of times as well.

Any tips

I haven't managed to get really good results by splitting a single shot. Always looks "overdone" and very noisy.

Any of the unprocessed pictures either had a black bridge or blown white sky - there's no way I could have captured enough detail with just one picture!
