Brilliant!

(The MVO seems familiar - a BBC continuity announcer?)

Anyway, the job described sounds like an ideal opportunity to shoot JPG after all!

Is it just my end or is there an awful lot of silence between each sentence that could be close up?

It sounds like Alexander Armstrong. Yes there are gaps in the dialogue.

I think you're right, and he'd certainly be up for it.

ETA On second hearing, no, it's a bloke who does the narration for a quiz or game show... dang... National Lottery?

Er, it's a make your own movie website where you type in the dialogue and it synthesises the voices. The long silences are because of the limitations of the software.

I deduced the general idea from the closing captions - so you're saying this software can make a perfect synthesis of a known MVO from nothing but not close an edit?

I don't know what an MVO is. I was just pointing out the reason for the long gaps in case you thought the video was individually edited by a human.

Try one for yourself if you want to see what happens. smile

Sorry, MVO is 'Male Voice Over'. Voices can be remarkably hard to edit, sometimes impossible - but video can be a simple 'cut and shut'. In normal editing you'd make the soundtrack first, then fit the video to it.

OK... hopeless rip off... but has amused people on my side of the industry

http://www.xtranormal.com/watch?e=2009100311061316...

I've done several.... but I'm not showing the others for fear of litigation!

ETA... the site is really slow at certain times of the day... call back.

oh, and - the one at the top was done from someone who had paid for the premium service, so my effort was seriously compromised! (Cos I am tight and didn't pay).
