Just gone an updated the site, what does everyone think?

Current bugs...

Few spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. If you spot them please point them out.

Archives doesnt link on some pages also its currently empty (not playing ball ATM).

Gallery overlaps.

Besides that......

[Mod Edit] URL removed as it falls foul of PH advertising policies [/Mod Edit]

I like the colours and most of the layout. However, on my little 15" screen the centre sections of the homepage and gallery fall off the edge of my screen which is a little annoying! The pictures across the top on the home page are fine but the middle section is too wide for me to see it all without scrolling sideways.

Your navigation buttons really do not stand out enough, some users may have trouble finding them. Personally i would increase the font size and possibly the colour of those. And why do you have them at the top of every page and in the footer? that just seems pointless.

Also I would change the index page from the About me one to your gallery as that is what people are visiting your site to see and I am sure if they like your photography they will then view the About me or Contact pages if they are interested in your services.

that is just my thoughts.

The first photo in your gallery is a (slightly imo) underexposed tvr with a tree growing out it's front windscreen. Not the best example.

The first photo presented should always be your hero shot.

It probably has everything switched off, accessing from a Government network frown

Quite like that shot but I understand where you are coming from. Going to switch it with a Subaru one. currently my favourite set so they can fill first place until my next shoot.

Made them smaller so the gall could take up more space and made bigger. Think I might drop them though like you said whats the point of having two? Residual thing from college, taught us you always need them up top.

You have a point there. That is why I have the top images to do that job but from other sites I have seen that may be the way to go.

Still all over the place in IE6 I'm afraid.

The biggest problem with the site as I see it is that your text doesn't flow to fill the available space. As a result on anything other than full screen browsing I've got to scroll horizontally to read your text - that's a huge no-no as far as design goes.

Another thing Damian is the blurb.. several spelling mistakes (combing = combining? achieves = archives?), lack of punctuation throughout, and some dodgy English viz "I am all open ears and make sure all your needs are met!". Get it proof read and tightened up - some nice images though!

Hmm, any ideas?

Just changed it so it flows now so that is sorted and I have now switched to gallery first about me second.

I agree, that's a much better shot. The depth of field almost makes it look like a tilt shift image!

Normally I'd take a look but I'm up to my eyeballs at the moment - all I can do is advise you to download this:

http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE

Which lets you run IE from version 3 up to 6, so you can test in older versions. This should let you see the problem on your own system and make it much easier to work on a fix.

Good luck! smile

Tried it, anything below 5.5 crashed but I wouldn't imagine anyone would still be running anything below 6. Its strange, It works on my 6 but not on yours?? and I am viewing it from the server not off the desktop. :s

This thread does fall foul of the PH advertising rules, as you are effectively promoting your business through this thread.

However, rather than remove the thread altogether, I have removed the URL from the first post (any PH'er with half a brain would be able to find the URL through your profile) - as there is a lot of feedback that I suspect you will find useful.
