If you are interested in older photographs....

I hope this post is OK in the forum..
In this age of mainly digital photography, I wonder whether you might be interested to see a selection of images taken on film, approximately 50-70 years ago.
My grandfather was a well-known amateur photographer in the 1935-1963 period, and I have inherited literally thousands of his negatives, transparencies and exhibition prints, which I am slowly trying to archive.
In the meantime I have put together a website with a small selection of his work (which I have scanned where neccessary) and it can be found at www.sdjouhar.com

Finally got round to making some time to look at those photographs, and I'm glad I did.
Fascinating insight into your grandfather's photography, and I especially liked his self-portraits.
Some of the images are, frankly, stunning. You must be, rightly, very proud of him.
At the risk of some lessons in egg-sucking, do make sure the photographs and negatives are properly archived and protected - they're very much something which needs to be looked after for the future.
Thanks so much for sharing them with is

Yes - I have been cleaning them, where neccessary, with the proper fluid, and storing them in archival quality storage pages (Kenro)

What did you use to scan them, neg copier or printer/copier? Still to browse the prints by the way.

The negatives (many of them Medium-format) have been scanned on an Epson V700 scanner, which is a reasonable piece of kit.
The slides have been scanned on a Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 - again a decent piece of kit.
The exhibition prints are too big for me to to scan, but the ones that I have shown on the website are all ones where my grandfather made "test-prints" - usually 8x10 or similar, so I was able to scan those - of course the quality on the website is much lower than it could be.
