Hey guys

Just wandering if anyone knows any decent locations for photographing cars at night in London?
A group of us are planning on going out between midnight - 2/3am at some point and hopefully take some stunning photos at some of London's best locations.

We're thinking of places that have Canary Wharf, London Eye, Westminster etc in the background, or to be honest even something a bit more ghetto like Brick Lane.

anyone got any suggestions for locations, example pics or ideas of equipment? like would it be advisable to hire some spot lights for the night etc?

any help would be much appreciated, cheers

Obviously there are the usual shots of the london eye from across the water that everyone goes for.

Near waterloo station there is the old taxi rank/tunnel that is covered in grafitti

also be careful around Canery Wharf as it is private property so they can be a bit funny about photography.

Good luck with the shots. I am planning my own trip up there soon. I am gonna go to woolwich to see if i can get some nice shots of canary wharf.

Some good shots can be had from the east end of Marsh Wall (Lawn House close is what you're looking for on a map) if you want to avoid the security guards ... although they're not usually a problem if you tell them that the photo's are just for your personal use / not for profit. I suspect they may get a bit more suspicous if you turn up with a few cars and a full lighting setup.

The old taxi rank / tunnel by Waterloo is is owned by the British Railways Board and they have stopped access to it now.

I spoke to them a couple of months ago regarding getting a car in for pictures - was a no go. Since then they have put in larger curbs, which I couldn't get the car over.

My friend went last weekend and took pictures of his car smile

Though he said it was quite dodgy down there, and did scrape his exhaust along the ramp.

Mine only had 2" of clearance underneath and nearly got beached trying to get over the curb...

Gave up in the end.

Don't blame you!

Though your profile picture, it does look quite low hehe

A disused warehouse/industrial estate kind of place would look cool!

The embankment in putney is quite popular for phot shoots, Top Gear quite often there. If you get a low tide at night, some goods pics of Putney Bridge lit up
