Great pics, long time since I've been to this. Anyone know anything about that weird Farley Mk2 thing?

I can help you out with the weird Farley I own it lol. It was built by Dr John Farley who spent a lifetime building and developing cars. This was the culmination of all his thoughts on building a hillclimber. It runs a Godden Vee twin supercharged on Methanol. drive is through a pre war 4 speed Harley davidson gearbox. The reason for the Kart tyres was the availability of qualifying kart tyres and the low mass and keeping the height of the solid rear axle low. Unfortunatly by the time the car was built Karts no longer used qualifying tyres and Nitro had been banned. Its a shelsley special, my PB up shelsley is 29.8 in the car. The car features a coil spring damper in roll to provide stiff roll to reduce the chances of the final drive chain falling off. It has another softer coil spring damper in bump to aid traction. Our time at Brighton was 11.5 secs , our gearing was too short, terminal was only 118 mph. It has many unusual features all well thought out ...a garden spray bottle is pressurised by a small inner tube in the nose..this provides plenty of methanol at 3 psi to the twin float bowl SU which the Eaton supercharger sucks through. We consume about 3 litres of methanol in 30 seconds at Shelsley. Hope this helps lol

Ah, sorry Jim for calling your car 'weird', I should have known that its owner would be on here. It certainly turned a few heads biggrin

I thought perhaps the gearing was wrong for the venue - you could hear it running out of puff towards the finish line.
