I'm starting to look around for a DVD recorder (the type that goes under the TV) and whilst there are plenty to choose from now, I want one that's black, not silver. I also want -R/-RW rather than +.
The Toshiba DR-1 isn't really black but hasn't got much silver ('spam'!) in it - does anyone know this machine or can point out any failings? http://techtronics.com/uk/shop/50-toshiba-dr-1-dvd-recorder.html

I bought my Panasonic DVD recorder from them. Bloody spot on for service and knowledge.

Does it really have to be -R? I just got a Phillips DVDR75 from Richer sounds for £200 (£220 multiregion), and it's great. However it's +R/+RW.
D'oh just noticed the black only bit, ah well....

Unfortunately I have a mental block with Philips - they were my last employer's biggest account and anything with Philips on it reminds me of them!
I'm favouring -R as most makers use it. I think in the passage of time +R will fade out, and already +R disks cost more than -R ones. VHS/Betamax/deja vu?!
