Oh I'm glad you got that shot. I saw the Red Arrows arriving in formation but didn't get the shot as I was gassing to someone.
Great colours there. Unlike mine. Did you use a custom white balance or something? Mine was just on auto.
Was using cloudy sky as the white balance on my camera. Most of my shots in the air were really disappointing and that was the only one (out of a good 200 in air shots) that I was pleased with, probably my favourite photo of the day I think. I played with it in lightroom afterwards, raised the exposure and added some brightness (I am an SLR and lightroom novice so pleased with what I have got!)

I've had a quick look through your Flickr account and I would suggest your shutter speed tends to be a bit on the high side throughout the folder.
You've got a 350D which is capable of very good shots as a camera - not sure what lens you are using though?
By no means do I know what I'm doing, either taking photo's or processing but a quick fiddle with one of your images produces this...

They are not as bad as you might think

I was using a Tamron 70-300mm for the aircraft shots. M-J-B said:

That's brilliant. What did you do? I'm useless with post-processing. Original

Took the photo into Photoshop;
Lightened the shadows slightly and touch of unsharp mask (sharpens the photo).
Then into Noiseware to reduce the noise and bingo.
I really only play at this type of processing and I'm sure someone with greater knowledge could really bring out the detail in a lot of photo's that seem to be a right pile of s

These look good; love the Vulcan one, though the open bomb bay doors one sends a bit of a chill down the spine; as one pilot commented "a bomb bay full of instant sunshine."A few of mine...
