You could try this too
ftp://www.rs6.com/rs6.com/RS6-COM-BMW-M3-CSL-HiFi.wmv
The photographer who did it is Erik B of www.rs6.com
He's also got some excellent photography at www.sportbilen.se/index.php?page=bildspel.php?cat=ringen03_2&go=0

DONE!
I've halved the file saize to 36 mb without loss of quality (70 was a bit BIG!)
I've put on www.SadGit.net with a flashing 'NEW' sign, and a link to RS6.com
I'll let you advertise it!
BTW... I now know why an average of 1 person per day dies there

Many figures get blown out of all proportion through the "chinese whispers" of the internet and this is one of them. From another discussion forum I gather that 4 people died there this year (2002). Two of which were regulars on the Ferrari board of this site. RIP Amar and Jens.
DAZ
Indeed RIP... didn't know that.
You're absolutely right DAZ... just been checking the stats... 350 (as reported) does seem a bit OTT - but it does seem clear that deaths at the circuit are recorded, but deaths BECAUSE of the circuit are not...
www.nurburgring.org.uk/warning.html
"At the upper end of estimates, an ITU nurse at Koblenz hospital told us they get 2-3 admissions a week from the Ring, around half of whom don't make it."
...whatever the stats, a blimmin' dangerous place to drive methinks.
And on that happy subject... Happy Chrismas!

Steve.
If Ben can't find the full stats to put onto his website they probably won't appear anywhere else, what is for sure is that any injuries will be more sever whilst riding a bike rather than driving a car.
If you ever do make the trip over I would recommend taking a few passenger laps and then only driving with an experienced passenger to start with.
Best Regards and Happy Chrimbo.

I've found some statistics from the area around Nürburgring quoted in the newspaper Rhein-Ahr Rundschau from 21. Nov. 2002:
Numbers are for the year 2002 in the Region Adenau (which includes the Nürburgring/Nordschleife track).
792 accidents total
-164 light injuries
-82 severe injuries
-7 fatal
occurences on the ring from the above
-57 light injuries
-32 severe injuries
-7 fatal
from 792 accidents
49% bikes
51% cars
where the average ratio between bikes and cars is 66% cars.
75% of these accidents are caused by 18 to 24 yr. olds.
Rhein-Zeitung from 22.Nov.2002
though writes about eight fatal traffic accidents, from which four occured on the track.
The company that administrates the 'ring (Nürburgring GmbH) does not publish official statistics. Those used by the newspapers were published by the local police.
