I've had a bit of a nightmare the last week or so. First of all I had flu last week (not known which type) but I was going stir crazy in the house so I decided to do some gardening on Sunday. In my slightly off kilter state I accidentally sprayed myself in the eye with weed killer. The week killer brings on conjunctivitus which then spread to my other eye. After spending most of the day at the hospital on Monday they also noticed somthing up with my restina so I had to go back for more tests yesterday. This included a flourocine test which turns your blood yellow so they can check the back of your eye. It also turns your skin yellow and all bodily fluids flourecent yellow! Thankfully I have just found out that all tests are clear and I've not done any permenant damage but it certaitly made me stop and think. Forget your megapixels and L lenses your eyes are the only bit of kit that really matters so look after them!

I couldn't help but laugh up until the retina problem, I was half expecting you to stand on a rake next. I'm glad everything was ok.

I prefer my camera equipment looking used, it gives me more character but I 100% with you on looking after your bodyparts. I put goggles on for almost everything when working on the car since a dremel cutting blade shattered and came within a few CM of taking my eye out.

Not quite as bad as my friend who was using an angle grinder under his car without goggles, only to drop it on his head. The disk scuffed a fair chunk of skin off his nose!

ETA - any pictures of the yellowness? You could always dress up as Homer!

Hope you're back on the mend Nick, I was having a peek at your website earlier and it'd have been a shame to let it stop there.

I remember I scratched my cornea a while back, hit myself in the face with a belt buckle (I still dont know why) and had that eye treatment together with numbing agents. I thought for a while I was going to be blind in one eye, came back as good as it was before in the end.

Eyes are damn clever. What we really need is a digital out, and forget cameras!
