Sony Cybershot DCS V1
Discussion
I just went and got myself an almost new DCS V1 on eBay + kit after I read the great review it got in the December edition of 'What Digital Camera'
I haven't started to use it yet , however the same camera is reviewed in Jan's edition of PC World and the reviewer gave it a disaapointing 'middle of the road' review - not sure how much the PC World reviewer was biassed on his view of it £550 RRP which is on the high side - even the Sony centers are selling it for £511 inc 'free 128 MB memory stick - the cheapest i seen it retail for is £411.

Having just bought a Fuji S5000 I was thinking the same thing review wise. I also considered The Sony V1 and the Olympus C5050 and all seemed to get wildly differing reviews depending on what mag you read. I ended up going for the Fuji as it was a bit less ( £299 in Dixons ) and the 10x optical zoom suited my needs. I reckon at this price most of the cameras provide satisfactory results to the casual snapper ( like me ) and you just buy which one takes your fancy.
