Hi all,

I have spent the last month or so shooting for a Sports and Classic Car Hire Club called 'Driving Spirit' (www.drivingspirit.co.uk). I have yet to finish off all the cars but I'm sat here in work bored out of my skull and thought I'd post a few of the images. They gave me free roam on all the photography as I understood their needs. Personally, I wanted to create images which were really simple, included some 'driving spirit' (winding roads etc) and made you want to drive the cars. They all needed to be similar so the images will get a tad boring towards the end. I didn't shoot for my own benefit, but I plan to borrow some again for a portfolio update.

Below are some of my favs, all the rest are available on my flickr (www.flickr.com/dean-photo)

3 is my favourite, not sure what it is but it just jumped out at me straight away, love it.

1, 8 and 21 also stand out...but all of them are publishable in my (amateur) opinion. Nice work!

Dean you work is outstanding, great composition, vibrant colours, clarity and interesting backgrounds.
Numbers 13 and 21 are perfection for me.

Dean, i've been following this series on flickR for a while, great to see and you've created many stunning images. I'm sure the client was more than impressed.

Matt.

Number 3 really jumped out for me to....though as soon as I looked at it I wanted the front wheels to be pointed slightly the other way with a tweak of oppo lock biggrin

No 3 stands out for me too but for the wrong reasons. As the angle of the car is so unnatural for the road it looks like the car has either broken down or just had a lucky escape in a spin or slide.

Very good set of pics though, I'm sure Driving Spirit will be very happy with them.

Odd...never even crossed my mind...I can see it's clearly parked for effect, and the effect works (for me). Each to their own...

Lovely exterior images, but I think you really need some interior shots - i.e. the cars being driven. IMHO would make the idea of driving them even more tantalising, after all that's where the punter will be experiencing the driving spirit! cloud9

I'm a fan of 4 too.

How were they shot? Looks like a low down mount on a chase car, shot remotely?

Thanks for the comments everyone!

As for interior motion shots, I have a few but I've planned to do some with all the cars in the next few weeks, it's pretty tough to do it by yourself.

Some nice images there, but I don't think they are collectively up to your usual standard Dean.... However 16 is standout: instant portofolio material.... 30 is nice too, but less succesful. Other highlights for me are 10, 15, 21, 23 & 27

Always nice to see some quality car pics in here!

1, 4 and 10 are best I reckon. They all look good to me though.

Dean,

Been following these as they appear in Flickr and I must say im in orr, most days i'd log into flickr to see the next batch of stunning images from you.

As you say simple but sometimes its the best way, they convey the feeling of wanting to just get in and drive the car out the picture and down that road!!!

Look forward to putting enough practice in to be able to produce images on this level.

Thanks for Sharing again.

Matt

Gorgeous images mate, your post processing skills are fantastic. If you had the time to share with us some tips as to how you achieved those beautiful colours I'd be very grateful.

10 and 23 stand out as my favourite. That location for the 355 spider fits perfectly with the car!
