we were snappig away yesterday when the above Camers (we havent had long 18 months approx) wouldnt switch on it showed on the screen the word ACCESS the lense went out and in several times then it told us to switch off an on again which we did with no success

The chap in the Camera Shop said to leave the battery out for several days in hopes that it would forget it had a fault!!!

has anyone else had problems there are a few people when i googled it earlier or will i have to throw it away

Does it mention this problem in the 'troubleshooting' section of the manual?

'Access' sounds like it might be a card writing issue - have you tried another card?
