I'm going for the Nikon D60 at last!!!

Where is the best place for buying on-line that do overseas shipping?

So far the best I have found is with the 18-55 and 55-200 lenses for $780 inc shipping to Dubai.

Don't even bother suggesting getting it locally - it's a myth that things are cheap here; you would struggle to get a 2nd hand one with just the 18-55 lens for that much!!!

I don't know about the overseas shipping aspect, but would recommend www.warehouseexpress.co.uk for UK purchases.

Because, as a general rule, they charge about 20% more than the UK/USA on-line shops.

See if you can find somewhere that will export without charging you VAT. As you probably know, most goods (and all cameras) attract 15% government sales tax here in the UK.

surely the extra service and help you get ( ie hands on before you buy to name one plus) makes up a little for that ?

The US companies offer the manufacturer warranty that has global coverage smile

Customs here charge 5% tax on declared value, from the US there is no sales tax smile

Looks like it will still be up to 15% cheaper than here then..... It's a bloody myth that Dubai has cheap consumer electronics. Even the Outlet Mall has the D90 at around $380 more than the USA including shipping. Outragous.

Don't forget to add an additional 15% for VAT after the 5% duty.

Guys, this is an export to Dubai, rather than an import to the UK. The trick will be not getting charged the VAT at this (the sending) end. wink

Sales outside the EU are VAT-exempt, so for a Dubai address, just ask them to make sure they don't charge VAT. It's a non-EU export.

Good point - Nikon have some funny rules depending upon where in the world you buy things. For example in the US buyers get very touchy about "gray imports" because Nikon US won't touch them. It might be worth checking with your local distributor in the Middle East?

I don't think he's "forgotten" about it - precisely why the question is about overseas sales from the UK - I happen to know that Grays of Westminster (won't be cheapy-cheap mind) would quite happily ship overseas
