JVC Everio HDD Video Camera - Best software to edit video?
Discussion
My son has a JVC GZ-MG330K Everio video camera. It came with some software that was designed for the camera but that has now been lost (it was loaded onto a laptop whose hard drive went phut and we can't find the discs). It wasn't brilliant anyway so I was wondering whether I should get some different software that would work well with the camera and its files.
The camera will connect to a PC via a USB cable and makes a "mov*.MOD" file that just seems to be an MP4 file. These play on Windows media player put the aspect ratio is wrong. each "mod" file also has a "mov*.MOI" file that I have no idea about and in each directory there is a "*.PRG" file that I assume is some sort of index.
I was looking for a way to stitch them together, add soundtrack, add graphics, etc. It needs to be simple enough for a 45yo to operate but my 13yo son can probably help me, if you want to recommend me something more complex.
