Nothing wrong with it, as you say nice and clean. I think the font is maybe a bit big for my taste. I personally prefer text in the first person rather than the third person but that's just me.
Unless you are planning on updating your website all the time (as in more than once or twice a week) I'd lose the calendar. Otherwise all it does is show how infrequently you update your website!

I hate 3rd person too but was advised that so did it that way. I might just 1st person it tonight as it all sounds a bit pretentious in 3rd person.
Good point on the calendar, its just the only widget that I could get to work - have changed it now, its limited as if you have no widget it just puts up metadata
Hows that look now?

Better with the photos there.
I'm always in two minds when it comes to a photography website. On the one hand I only want to design sites that are purely a portfolio - I want to get the pictures out front and center and keep text to a minimum. The problem with this is that when you present a portfolio in person you are the information side and the portfolio doesn't need to convey that. On the web it's different.
What I would say is that for your site I reckon your work needs to be out front and center right smack in the face of the visitor. A lot of your portraits are very high impact and need to be displayed as the main (perhaps only) feature of the page. Currently you've got a text heavy front page and I don't think it makes the impression that it could given the quality of your work.
Behind this you can use wordpress to run a blog, or just update some fairly static pages.

I know it's probably not designed to run on Opera but using Opera the 3 tabs (about clicketyclicks, portraits, contacts) cover the bottom half of the word photography in your title. Also the column of photos on the right overlap the grey at the top, but that looks like it is supposed to?

And in Firefox 3.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

That's why I've kept the entry page for my site, photos have to come first for a photographer I recon.
