I keep seeing wonderful results that people get using Photoshop. I don't struggle too much to pick up the specifics of these techniques, but I do really struggle with anything that involves just one particular area of an image. I can select against a plain background easily enough, but how do I select things against complex backgrounds? Everything I've tried ends up looking like it has been cut out by my 3yr old. Using crayons. frown

I've got either Elements 5 or Gimp to play with in terms of editing suites. Are there any decent tutorials that can help with this sort of thing anywhere on the web?

Excellent! More expensive than Elements itself, but excellent nevertheless. I am currently trying to resist buying it! hehe

I just bought Essentials for Elements, £29

In that, it's called "Cut it Out"

Does it do the bit round hair with the keep and discard colours bit?

If it does, why on earth do they charge more to buy it standalone than bundled together?

It does, but this is the Elements plug in vs Mask Pro which is the CS plug in

I daresay there's some subtle differences, but the Flash tutorial does the same demo with the bubbles but on Elements instead of CS4

Excellent! I'm trialling the CS Plug In, which works perfectly with Elements. Time to give the Essentials a go then. smile

Where did you get it at that price? I'm seeing $70.
