I got a Panasonic Lumix TZ5 for Chrissy, which I managed to trap in the boot of the MX5 when I closed it.

Damage - the camera was in an open position, with the lens extended from the main body, and this bore the brunt of me attempting to close the car boot - there's a slight mark on either side of the lens casing from the impact, but the whole system will now not move in or out, or focus any more - it's blurry.

Help - any suggetions of any good repair shops - preferably in the City of Docklands.

Thanks
Jo

Check if it's covered on your house insurance. Probably won't be worth fixing and they're about £170 new and it'll probably be £100 just to look at it I'd imagine.

It's covered on the house insurance, however would take us to 3 claims within 3 years (enquired in December for a damaged Cartier that I thought would be a replacement/expensive repair - they did it for free!!), so I think, as you say, I'd rather buy a new camera than put a small amount through the insurance and raise premiums. It was just a thought on the repair front before I got a new one.
