I've searched, played around and looked in the 'Formatting Help' link and still no joy.

How do I post a picture from my flickr account in a post and embed a link to the larger picture on flickr?

In times of old on other forums it used to be easy to embed a url into a picture, but I'm obviously missing something here.

Go to the image on Flickr, click All Sizes.

Select Medium if the Large file is greater than 750 pixels wide. When the Medium image opens up, scroll down and grab the photos URL. Copy it using either right click/copy or CTRL + C

On this forum you need to use tags. You can either use image tags which will just display the image, pic tags which will link it back to Flickr as well as display the image, or thumb tags which will show a small thumbnail and link back to Flickr

The format is the same [img] then the url [/img]

[pic] then the url [/pic]

[thumb] is the same

Another alternative is to do what I usually do, use the medium size to display in here and link through to the original size:

[u r l][i m g]medium size link[/ i m g]|large size link[/ u r l] (without the spaces obviously)

As used here:



Using this method you can change where the photo displayed here links back to; the original size, your photostream, your sets ... wherever.

There's a neat add-on for Firefox called Better Flickr which adds a series of links on each main image page on Flickr, to the various sizes of image. You can right-click these links and choose "copy link location" and then paste it into the forum post. Saves going into the image, then to all sizes, then to medium, then grabbing the location.
