Im no Paintshop Pro, Pro...
But ive had a go myself and modified this photo. Is there any chance someone could do it a bit better? My eyes look really dark in it and just sharpen the whole thing up. I want to get it printed for our new home!
Still keeping to the theme of picking out the green dress.

My eyes are instantly drawn to the green dress, it looks really odd. The original, or plain black and white, is much better in my opinion.
Was kinda going for the "odd" look, both quite liked it, but if anybody else has any better ideas i would be grateful. Also you can see my shoddy attempt at removing some jacket!
Is it a scan of a physical photo, or is it a digital file?
You have a few problems; the white balance has a heavy green tint (a touch of magenta needs to be added) and you've got blown highlights (your shirt) and blocked shadows (not too big a problem).
If you can provide the file to me I'll have a play if you wish. A RAW file would be best (if you have it).

What res did you scan it in at? I'd try cleaning the scanner, making sure the photo is clean and then scan it in at a higher resolution.. Then play with it, or ask for an original image from the photographer/pay for it.. Also you seem to have cropped some of the LHS of the photo off..

Unfortunately this is all I have! Got the proper professional photo already but had to scan it in.
Ah, well that could be most of the problem - you've lost a generation, actually two. What's not there you can't put back. If you want a decent print for your new home you'd be better off biting the bullet and asking the photographer to supply it from the original file. I give my customers hi-res JPGs but most do not.Edited by Simpo Two on Friday 23 January 11:23
