Some late arrivals from paradise
Discussion
Only a few months late, but here are some of my favourites from our visit to the Cook Islands (Aitutaki in particular) in September. All are 700pix files, so the full-size versions can be found here, plus another 20 I like.

Our room

The view from our room

The view from the loungers!

Some selected sunsets

(Photoshopped but included because I liked the effect. Original and this one in full-size folder)
And a few from Honeymoon Island

Comments & criticism welcome...
Cheers,
Martin.

Thems is cool. At the risk of being a saddo, did you make it over to the shipwrecked islands whilst you were round the corner (Motorakau and Rapota )? Think the americans also filmed "survivor" there. Always looked stunning, you lucky git!
Unfortunately not. Only had 3 days on Aitu and 2 on Rarotonga, so just enough time to make us wish we were staying longer (we tagged it onto a visit to NZ). Very expensive to get there and stay, but absolutely lovely once there.Apologies to all those raiding their savings and surfing Expedia and the like right now!
I am however happy to provide free advice about the place!
(More seriously - absolutely fantastic, but expensive, both to get there and to stay there...probably a once-in-a-lifetime thing for us. But if you find yourself in NZ, it'd be silly not to make the detour...)
Duncan - Becs just reminded me that the reason we didn't stop on those islands on the boat tour was that they were filming one of those shows on those islands at the time...Becs spotted their washing hanging up through the camcorder on full-zoom!
Steve - Becs has just been admiring your 'seats'...you should work for the Scottish Tourist Board with those sort of photos!

Ta Becs... great taste (cough). Unfortunately working for the Scottish Tourist Board would net me about £12.87 per year, and my dog eats that per day (as you can see by the size of him).havoc said:

Great shots though!
Cheers.
We didn't notice any mossies on Aitu, certainly not by the beach (a few inland when we went to that restaurant which looks like the dirt in front of someone's house but actually serves really good seafood, but I do mean just a few). But we were there at the edge of the season (late-Sept), so humidity was pretty manageable.
Raro, on the other hand, was wetter and mossier (no, not covered in lichen!
Mossie-ier, maybe?!?)...although still better than parts of SE Asia that we've visited. Vietnam was probably the worst.

I went to that restaurant, it was great! Steak with prawns...fantastic!
