If you've found Nikon software more awkward to use than pushing a dead cow over a stile, then there's hope for those who want to try remote capture:

Do you ever do remote capture? One of my mates has an ebay intervalometer and got some great results at 1 sec intervals on a roundabout capturing traffic.

I cant bring myself to walk far enough away from the camera in anything I've been doing

This is more for studio photography where you want to control the camera from a computer and see the image on a decent size screen. I don't really do enough studio work to justify the learning curve, but others may.

ETA: D200/300 already have intervalometers built in.
