....photos! Not seen one for a wee while.
After a month+ of not using the camera (for 'being bent over' reasons and generally becoming quite infuriated by this) I was itching to get out there and shoot.
A friend of mine is selling his V6 and so we thought we'd better put it to good use before it left.
Certainly nothing ground breaking and all lacking in somthing dynamic however, time and location were against us..

And some bonus average picces that you may never have seen before..

What excellent photo comments and criticism you provideI wish we was all like you, such a law abiding citizen you must be.
Thanks incredibly for your input. I am sure the owner is fully aware that his clio isn't pre 1972.
Just wow
where is the round of applause smiley?
It's a certainly a marmite car isn't it! I don't think the plates in the photos really help.
When first spotted in real life you think "Oh dear god, what has that chav done to that poor clio", it's not until it gets close that you realise it's much wider track, lovely V6 soundtrack and all the little details, once it's passed you see it from the rear and truly appreciate it.

A quick rundown of my expectation levels of feedback when posting photos for varying sites:
General PH member: Off topic, irrelevant, trying to be funny, sometimes it'll work, sometimes it won't, it will normally be very smug and have HTH in there somewhere towards the end (and TBH...arrrgggghhh!), no C&C.
Photog's of PH: will always tell the truth, with a slight hint of going off topic
.
Flickr: Willy stroking at it's best. Feeling down? Then go post something there
DS: Proper feedback although, most of the time it's nit-picking, unless of course you're one of 3 photographers. I'm not really liked on there so I try and stay away from the willy stroking of the other 3. They seem to be getting a lot more members of lae and the quality of photography is going down

Plate was used solely for the photos, legal plates were used when driving! Plod also wouldn't be too happy with him driving on the wrong side of the road but you didn't spot that did you? nerr nerr nerr nerrrrrr.

Nice one Dean!
I like the first Sagaris one a lot. Anyone else think the car looks over-wheeled?
Thanks Dobbo. That MKII was very over wheeled, looked ok from some other angles. It drove like a complete dog, the other 2 MKI's we had there were much nicer to drive. I like the first Sagaris one a lot. Anyone else think the car looks over-wheeled?

I love the lighting in the first shot Dean, it really shows off the car's shape. Until reading your post above I'd assumed you had used big lights rather than flashguns, impressed with how well you've balanced the lighting and managed not to get ugly lighting on the ground between flash and car (by that I mean harsh edges to the light or obvious 'direction' of the light - though I'm not explaining it well).
I like number 7 too. Cool sky.
I like number 7 too. Cool sky.
Sorry Dean, people posting s
te grips my s
t.
The photos are fantastic - althought the first moving shot seems to look a little washed out with regards to the sky. I assume the weather wasn't on your side.
The lighting is excellent and a said if my photos were this average I would be overwhelmed.

Thanks again for the feedback. I'm surprised so many people like them.
The first shot is blown out slightly on the wing. The weather weren't brilliant however, I will admit it's my fault for shooting into the sun!
If the light looks to harsh, move the flashes away and fire the flash down the sides of the car rather than straight at it. That's my top tip.
I'm not sure on 7 myself, different I guess

No worries, I was only jesting, totally agree.

Do you diffuse the light from your 285s Dean? I find mine are often really harsh.
I only diffuse the light if I'm doing detail/interior shots, all of these are lit bare. The harsh light can look cool in some scenario's. I guess it's whether you're going for a 'Max Power' look or something slightly more natural. If the light looks to harsh, move the flashes away and fire the flash down the sides of the car rather than straight at it. That's my top tip.

Thanks. I know where you're coming from. I used to find harsh shadows on the ground if I'm having to up the power on the flashes however, I've now learnt to balance the ambient nicely. Another trick is to take a shot with the flashes off and then just merge the 2 images. You'll be glad to hear though that all off the above Clio shots are single shots with a just a cheeky curves colour adjustment to the sky.I like number 7 too. Cool sky.
