Brilliant use of tilt/shift

that is awesome, I wonder if i can get a T/S lens for my video camera.
Depends but the company you need is RedRock; they make some equipment that allows you to mount SLR type lens onto a video camera. Not cheap but the results, from what I've seen, are very good and you can't argue with the benefits of having access to all those SLR lens selling cheaply on eBay.Blatter said:
Tremendous video (Or should I say "Vimeo"?)
It's the first time I've seen anything using a lensbaby system. Apart from that, the guy obviously has a lot of talent. The idea of using the monster truck venue was spot-on.
is that a lensbaby or a proper tilt/shift?It's the first time I've seen anything using a lensbaby system. Apart from that, the guy obviously has a lot of talent. The idea of using the monster truck venue was spot-on.
I thought lensbaby just gave you a "sweet spot" inthe centre, rather than the band of focus across the whole shot?

Very nice kit. Did you know that one of the top dogs there was one of the founders of Oakley? Love the 4K kit as well even though nothing can process it without downscaling first...

Nah! far too pretentious.Actually, what could we do with a D90 (or the Canon equivalent) and a lens baby? - On the thread below the Vimeo it says it was a bellows arrangement cobbled onto a video camera, but I know someone (as do you, Steve) with a T/S lens.
I also thought the "My Robot Friend" music pretty good - no doubt you could come up with something at least as good. I can then see it as another Aston drive through the highlands!
The Scarlet is the one to go for. <$3000 is being talked about.

Have you seen the size of the sensor on the EPIC 617? 186 x 56mm for a 261MP image!!!!!!! I can't even begin to imagine what an image like that will look like (or how to get it into Photoshop
)
Saw their presentation at IBC this year and it's amazing how far they've come in such a short time.
A lot of motion pictures and commercials are being shot on Red cameras now. Film isn't quite dead, but I'd be worried if I had shares in celluloid...
ETA oh yeah, that tilt/shift TL video is a really nice idea.

Brilliant! A very distinctive look. Any bets on how soon it is before we see a TV advert very similar to that?
You may be right - on Screen Wipe yesterday Charlie Brooker had an "advertising insider" who said that they just look on the internet for ideas to steal and use in adverts...Tycho said:

My interesting fact about the ONE is it costs as much to rent a standard Panavision film camera for a week as it does to buy a ONE outright...
