Took me days of stressing and reserching but I finaly decided on getting a Canon 450D. Was a toss up between a number of cameras but eventually came down to the D80 or 450D. Went for the Canon in the end because it was a newer camera but was generally a spur of the moment thing whilst standing in Jessops.

Not a bad deal I dont think. £479.99 for 450D kit with 18-55mm lens. Spend £12.99 extra on a 4gb SD card too. Also get £50 cashback from Canon, which is nice! Very impressed with the camera so far. Havent had much time to play about so far and certinatly not had a chance to take it anywhere worth photographing, but I love it. Very smart piece of kit.

Just need to get me a carry bag and I also want a wide angle jobbie too!

Anyway, heres a photo from me just playing around. Its a HDR jobbie but I like it alot! Love the sky and the general ambience of the scene.

Great choice mate, i'm sure you will be very happy.

I got my 400D in February and has been a great asset for me to develop my skills.

This forum is excellent too, have pretty much learnt everything on here smile

The only downside I can really find (and this is only because of what I'm used to) is that for alot of the settings, you have to traul through menus to get to them, which can be quite a lengthy process if your not sure exactly what menu it's in.

Coming from Olympus DSLRs, I find it much easier they way they do it. Everything is displayed on the rear screen when shooting and you can simply use the arrow buttons to select what you want to change on the screen. Its just alot quicker :-)

Otherwise, I prefer it over my old E-510 and E-500 prior to that!

camerapricebuster.co.uk is the best website when it comes to comparing prices of cameras, lenses and accessories.
Always gives the lowest price on internet.

450D w/lens kit - lowest price atm - £438.04 delivered so with the rebate is comes out at £388.04 - what a bargain.
A the start of the year this would have cost around £650!!

EDIT: £388.04
