Hi,

this is my first posting with photos, so forgive me if its not right.

Last March I took some night photos in London, and I was quite pleased with the results. I would like to do some more photos, preferably in the area of the Thames near the London Eye. However. I want to try and get a high up vantage point, like from the top floor of an adjacent building, so as to look down on the river.

Has any one had experience of gettin permision from building owners to do this? I know they are so strict on who they will give permission to.

Thanks.

They look like nice shots but they are rather tiny - can you post bigger images? I think the limit is 800 pixels wide for on here?

I really like the Tower Bridge one. Were you using a tripod or the wall? A couple of the others look slightly soft or there was a very slight camera movement.

Nice shots...

I believe the area directly under the London eye is private property, so you will get moved on. In a pulic place on public property you should be okay, but don't count on it... (plenty of threads on photographers rights on here)

Hi Chris, yes I think I saw this one posted by you earlier in the year.

That looks like a good vantage point.

When I was taking the photos last March, I was moved on 3 times. It is amazing who seems to be out there watching you, even when there seems to be no one in sight.

Why did you move on if you were in a public place ?

I had no problems - November evening (IIRC it was a Sun) and parked the car on Waterloo bridge, set up the tripod and shot away. No hassles.

Sorry for the late reply, but here is another site:

The corner of Victoria Embankment and Westminster Bridge. Pointing one way you have this:

Turn 180 deg and you have this:

If you fancy crossing over Westminster bridge you get this view:

I am going into town on Nov the 1st to give it another go, hopefully there will be some fireworks knocking around too....

I work on the Strand and oftrn find myself walking along waterloo bridge at night and in my opinion that is the best view of london by night, which ever way you look from the bridge there are beautiful views of london!

Saying that, i am still yet to get the camera down there to get the shots i want.
