Problem on friends 350D (not saving as raw+jpg)

When he select RAW+L (jpeg) format and takes photos, he gets 2 identical jpegs and no RAW on his memory card.

I've suggested snapping on several modes to see if it's only on a certain mode it's happening, to fire a new card in and format, and if all else fails to update firmware if available...

Anyone seen this before or have other suggestions?

I take it he can see the .jpg file extension on both?

Yeah, it is the same filesize and the second one has the same filename with (1) added to it - much like if you were to save something twice and have the same name if you get my drift...

Just wondering if it's an issue found when transferring directly from cam to pc without using canon's software - I have a hard installed card reader that I transfer all my pics from - have never transferred directly from cam using windows before.
