I understand that the OP does not wish to PAY for photography.

I'm not usually somebody who draws attention to spelling, puncutation and grammatical errors on forums,
(I can make too many myself!) but when the perpetrator represents a magazine publisher ....... rolleyes

This is also my understanding. If they want average, bordering terrible photography as per their first issue, then good luck to them. The magazine looks extremely amateur-ish.

There's a credit crunch, don't you know? How can you expect people to pay for silly things like photographers... hehe

Slightly O/T question, but if the OP is still listening - why have you gone for what is essentially a paper magazine format online? If I want to read something online, I want it written and laid out appropriately. If I want something that looks like a paper magazine, I want to be able to read it on the train and, frankly, on the stter. This fails on both counts. How are you going to generate reader interaction using the media you've selected? If your answer is "we aren't" then you are out of business I'm afraid.

I saw that coming too, the moment I saw the word 'showcase!'. I hope none of the excellent respondents hand over their work for nothing. If the OP wants free stuff, do we have any lo-res wobbly snaps, preferably not sharp, that we can send? That would better reflect the budget I think.

We assume the printers print the magazine for nothing, and the paper is supplied free by the mill 'for the publicity'...

Maybe it's just a publishing mentality. I did a wedding for a publisher a while back and charge £10 per disk. He later mailed me: 'I can't see the photos, the disk must have corrputed, can you send me a another one?' Except that his wife had phoned me not long before and said how nice the photos were... I replied 'Sorry to hear that, every disk is checked before leaving etc - tell you what, send it back and I'll see if I can find out the problem.' No reply. But he and his mates all had extremely expensive cars.
